Christian Larumbe is a musician and educator based in Chicago, committed to taking listeners on a compelling journey of thoughts and emotions. 'Oaxaca' is a song inspired by his childhood visits to that beautiful city in southern Mexico.
As a guitarist, Christian has performed with Chicago blues legends Jimmy Burns and Corky Siegel. It’s not unusual to see him perform with Frank Orrall (Poi Dog Pondering and Thievery Corporation) and is part of Los Inmortales de Chicago, one of Frank’s side projects.
Christian has explored many different genres and styles. His music is influenced by an eclectic nature: Classical, jazz, Afro-Cuban, Avant-Garde, folk, and Mexican traditional music.
Christian has been a teaching-artist in Mexico, the US, France, and South East Asia. He lives in Chicago where he leads the department of Performing Arts at the British School of Chicago in Lincoln Park and is currently writing songs for an album in Spanish.
