Episode 52 - Sam Saunders E-mail
Sam SaundersSam Saunders and "The Sam Saunders Machine" are a kick ass rock and roll band making big waves in Chicago. He and his band have their own unique sound, but the influences of Eric Clapton, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones are obvious.

CAU had the opportunity to record Sam "unplugged" and we had a blast!!! I know that you will enjoy his music.

You can see Sam live on August 17th at Phyllis' Musical Inn in Chicago, but look for this act to break out on to the National scene soon. They are that good.

You can find all about them on their website www.myspace.com/digablecat

Enjoy the Magic while we wait for Alina to return from Romania and then go see them live.

Episode 49 - John Hasbrouck E-mail
John HasbrouckWhen John came into the studio carrying 3 guitars I knew we were in store for a treat.

John's bio reads like a PhD resume. Check it out on www.myspace.com/johnhasbrouck , but suffice it to say, he has studied resonator guitars and American finger picking styles for decades.

John came to us through CAU alumni Matt Gandurski. They play together as "The Northside Southpaws", a totally left-handed, totally reso-phonic mandolin/guitar duo.

You can see John and Matt live on July 13th at The Fizz Bar & Grill 8 PM, then at Two-way Street Coffee House in Downers Grove July 20th 8 PM, July 23rd 8 PM with Maddox at Kopi Cafe in Chicago, July 27th 8:30 PM John Solo at the Fixx Coffee Bar, and July 28th 9 PM Solo at Uncommon Ground in Chicago.

This man is a genius on the guitar and is an absolute Joy to listen to. So, pop open a brew and get ready to hear some of the best finger picking in America. Gee, do you think I liked him?
