IPD Concert Chi is devoted to showcasing the vibrancy of Indigenous Culture through music.This concert is pushing for the abolishment of Columbus Day in the city of Chicago.
Frank Waln- Frank Waln is an award winning Sicangu Lakota Hip Hop artist and music producer from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. A recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, Waln attended Columbia College Chicago where he received a BA in Audio Arts and Acoustics. Waln’s awards include three Native American Music Awards, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development 2014 Native American 40 Under 40, the 2014 Chicago Mayor’s Award for Civic Engagement, and the 2016 3Arts Grant for Chicago Artists. He has been featured in Buzzfeed, The Fader, Playboy, Vibe, NPR, ESPN, and MTV’s Rebel Music Native America. Waln has written for various publications including Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education, and Society and The Guardian. Frank Waln travels the world telling his story through performance and doing workshops focusing on self-empowerment and expression of truth.
NuFolk Rebel Alliance is a duo made up of Pedro Erazo (Gogol Bordello, Chicholina Sound Machine) and Leo MInimum Tek (Outernational, Escarioka).
Using folkloric instruments, lo-fi electronics and rebellious vocals, the groups sound is a fusion of North and South American Folk Music, with hints of tropical and urban sounds, blended with a lot of punk rock attitude.
This modern "anrchymists" sings in English and Spanish, up bringing a message of unity, strength, and love in the face of division and hatred.
A true border-crossing friendship, the NuFolk rebels' spirit and energy is an uplifting punky new take on so-called "folk music," taking the meaning back as music for the people.
The band released their first album "NuFolk Tribute To The Clash" in August 2018 and took their first tour to Mexico and along the border. Soon after, the band was picked up to support Che Sudaka in Germany in January 2019 and to support Gogol Bordello in Spring 2019. The band is currently working on their next releases and more international touring.

OPLIAM- OPLIAM’s music crosses all musical boundaries. He plays rock and roll, hip hop and reggae. Sometimes separately, sometimes cosmically interwoven. OPLIAM has toured internationally, playing shows in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2019, OPLIAM played both the Indigenous People’s March in Washington, DC as well as the 23rd Annual World Peace and Prayer Day, held by Chief Arvol Looking Horse .In 2019,OPLIAM also had the opportunity to open for Kweku Collins on the Manifest Urban Arts Festival Main stage, Downtown Chicago. Manifest’s previous headliners include, Chance The Rapper, Common, Ella Mai, Vic Mensa, just to name a few. In 2018, OPLIAM Played Flow Fest , on the Big Island of Hawaii w/ Eoto , Mike Love, Dustin Thomas, Yaima , Chris Berry and many more.
