Rich Sparks and Brett Neveu formed The Last Afternoons after years together in various Chicago bands (Dad Factory, Sex Ritter, Food and Drug, Dad’s Magazine). Now they bring their new-wavey garage pop songwriting to a brand new unit, made up of old and new friends. Preston Pisellini (the Webstirs) commands lead guitar, Russ Horvath keeps savage time on the drums, and Paul Foster keeps it all boiling with steamy basslines.
In 2018, TLA released their debut album, “Little Habitz,” to a fair amount of acclaim (even international!). And as of summer 2019 they are putting the finishing touches on their follow up.
The Last Afternoons like talking about influences. Check these out: The Jam, Graham Parker, The New Pornographers, The Archies, The Decemberists, Nick Lowe, and The Jags.

“Fun vibes…stellar musicianship and really great vocal harmonies.” - Tina Mead, Midwest Action
