Frankie B, a young singer, songwriter and musician from suburban Chicago, has been singing since before she began to walk. She picked up the guitar for the first time at the age of 8 and has been in front of audiences ever since. Frankie and her band put on a high energy show that is fun for people of all ages. Frankie sings songs in English and Spanish that span an wide variety of genres and make people want to get up and dance. She is as comfortable performing in a club as she is in front of a festival crowd.
Her self titled EP, available on iTunes, was released in the summer of 2015. Frankie B has performed on PBS's Song Stage and has been featured on WGN News, 3 local radio stations, a podcast, 2 local magazines and numerous newspaper articles.
Frankie B performs as a five piece band with Tom Klein (guitar), Jerry King (drums), Ryan Tedder (saxophone/keys). They have performed at numerous notable Chicago venues including House of Blues, Martyr's, Double Door, Pilsen Fest, Simone's, City Winery River Walk, Uncommon Ground, Bourbon Street, Troquet and The Mint in LA.
Neil DIxon Smith is a guitarist living in Chicago specializing in the solo guitar traditions of Latin America. Neil learned this music from a decade-long apprenticeship with a master guitarist from Chile, Alfonso Chacon (1934-2011). Neil plays a mix of music from Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile and Puerto Rico, and his influences include: Alfonso Chacon, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Oscar Aviles, Luis Bonfa, Baden Powell, Roberto Grela and Joe Strummer.
