Zain Lodhia

Zain Lodhia is a Chicago-based singer/songwriter new to the indie pop/rock scene. With a diverse range of influences and strong acoustic roots, Zain began writing music as a hobby in college but it wasn't until he picked up guitar in early 2009 that it turned into a serious passion. After releasing the Memories EP in June 2011, he shifted his focus to writing and recording a full length album, The Leap, which was released in May of 2013.

"Music has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until later in my life that I discovered the world of songwriting and production. It was only once I started writing myself that I developed a true appreciation for music’s intrinsic value, but I soon realized it could mean so much more. Songs can grasp us in a way which emotionally ties us to its author, a connection which reveals our commonalities on the most basic level: our humanity. The fact that we all can feel joy, pain, and sorrow among other emotions prove that we are more similar than we are different, even though the circumstances which produce those emotions and their manifestations may drastically vary. We all have our own personal weaknesses, but each of us also has the strength and resolve to overcome them. It is through the relationships we build with the people in our lives that we find this strength and are able to achieve anything."
