COPENHAGEN'S CLEEMANN COMES TO CHICAGO SEPTEMBER 25, 2010

ABOUT:

August 19, 2010 Chicago, IL – CLEEMANN is a one-man musical force that wants the world to care more. In his album “45 Minutes Mostly About Caring” he proves a simple formula as he draws from Radiohead, Nick Drake and Elliott Smith in acoustic songs that use electronic elements and tingle with humanity.

The Copenhagen, Denmark-based songwriter's gentle, intense pop music will fill the air in Chicago September 25, 2010 as he performs at the ViaDuct Theater, 3111 N. Western Ave., at 10:00 pm ($10 cover) as part of his DARE TO CARE tour for Series Two Records.

CLEEMANN's songs all have one-word titles and he views his work as “investigations in the tricky art of writing music.” With optimism, modesty and a knack for rhymes and musical arrangements, CLEEMANN has been likened to Sondre Lerche, Josh Rouse, The Notwist, Lali Puna, Low, David Lynch and Spoon and has received strong reviews for his 10-song album, “45 Minutes Mostly About Caring.”

CLEEMANN REVIEWS:

It's hard to deny that there's something genius about his work.” - Andrew Fenstermaker, Fensepost, Seattle, WA, December 2008 / Far too selfless to have been birthed by the Western world.” - Ron Trembath, FensePost, 2010 / There are two qualities I look for [in] pop music- catharsis and satisfaction...CLEEMANN delivers both.” - Jesseca Bagherpour, Senior Editor, DayBowBow, January 2010

CLEEMANN is presented by Chicago Acoustic Underground, an organization committed to original music known for podcasts with songwriters. Opening is Goodbyehome, an energetic rock-folk project with Conor Oberst-like songwriting supporting their album “The Troubles.”
